Must Visit Places in Auckland City – Our 3 Favourite Spots

December 22, 2016 By Kent Routen

Must visit places in Auckland

Must visit places in Auckland. Auckland is New Zealand’s largest and most internationally diverse city. It offers a great variety of activities and sights and is a great place to spend a few days. Here are our 3 must see attractions.

Must Visit Places in Auckland – Queen Street

If you ever visit Auckland City, a stroll down Queen Street in the late afternoon is a must! The culture and vibes down the street is electric! You can literally find EVERYTHING on this street. There is GREAT shopping for everyone. Whether you want to shop for luxury brands, sports gear or affordable clothing look no further, Queen Street has it all!

Though it’s only around three kilometres long you will never feel bored walking on this street. There is always something happening here, people bucking for fundraising, and heaps of cultural performances! The night life on Queen Street is amazing, people walk around, full of energy and buzzing with excitement!

Must Visit Places in Auckland- Sky Tower

Sky Tower is Auckland’s largest building, which is one of the main attractions in this city. I believe that everyone has visited Auckland would visit here as well. What makes this place cool is that you have different options.  If you are a daredevil you can try a 300 meter Bungee Jump or you can take a walk around the platform on a harness. If you wish, there’s also a cafe with great views. It will definitely be worth the price of admission.

Must Visit Places in Auckland – Auckland Museum

There’s always something interesting to check out at Auckland’s largest museum. The Auckland Museum is both a war memorial on the top floor and a general diverse museum with exhibits. A visit here is about entering into the local cultures. The Maori history and artefacts are most fascinating.

You will love the displays of the native New Zealand creatures from the past and present like the Kiwi and Moa. However, the other exhibits are also very captivating. The main theme of the top floor is remembrance of the wars fought by New Zealand with a fantastic amount of detail.
